Hello, I’m Gemma, a qualified garden designer and professional gardener passionate about creating and caring for beautiful, wildlife-friendly gardens in Bristol, North Somerset and beyond. My approach blends resilient planting, native species and thoughtful materials to create gardens that flourish with the seasons. Whether it’s a full garden design, a planting refresh or regular maintenance, I help clients create spaces to relax, entertain, grow produce or simply enjoy nature.

With nearly 40 years of gardening experience, I specialise in creating beautiful, functional and naturalistic gardens that blend cottage-garden charm with modern design. I use resilient planting, native species and eco-conscious techniques to support wildlife and ensure year-round interest. My regular garden maintenance work gives me valuable insight into what thrives locally and how site conditions influence plant choices, enabling me to design resilient, wildlife-friendly gardens that are well suited to their environment.

I hold a Garden Design Diploma (Distinction) from the Garden Design School and the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Plant Growth and Development, both studied at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden. I am a Registered Gardener with the Professional Gardeners’ Guild, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture (ACIHort), and Cluster Lead for the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers (SGLD) Bristol & Bath group.

I am actively involved in local gardening and wildlife communities, serving on the steering committees of the BS3 Wildlife Group and South Bristol Gardening Club. I have also volunteered at RHS Chelsea, RHS Hampton Court, RHS Malvern and BBC Gardeners’ World Live flower shows.
