About
Hedgerow Horticulture combines herbalist principles with modern horticultural knowledge, I specialise in wildlife-focused gardening that brings vitality to gardens while supporting the wellbeing of both people and the environment naturally.
I am a qualified horticulturist with over 20 years of professional experience across botanical gardens, RHS estate gardens, organic growing systems, plant nurseries, and therapeutic horticulture environments. Holding a BTEC National Certificate in Horticulture (Double Merit), I benefited from a deep and practical plant knowledge developed through roles at Christchurch Botanic Gardens in New Zealand and Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens. Where I cared for diverse collections, including rare species and temperate rainforest planting. I am a member of the Gardeners Guild, assuring you I have high horticultural standards, and am fully qualified.
Alongside my horticultural work, I am deepening my relationship with plants through herbalism training. I have completed my first year of Welsh herbalism with an incredible teacher, Salena Walker, and have now begun my second year. This training enriches the way I understand plants, not just in terms of their structure and design, but their properties, uses, and place within a living system. It has also offered me a greater appreciation for the land I live and work on in West Wales. Deepening a connection with the folklore, culture and history of the landscapes we live among.
I offer seasonal garden care that works with nature’s rhythms, using organic practices and regenerative principles to keep gardens healthy, balanced and thriving throughout the year. Alongside regular maintenance, I provide one-off garden consultations and mentoring, offering practical, personalised advice and hands-on learning to help you understand your garden and develop confidence in caring for it yourself.
My work encompasses wildlife gardening, medicinal gardens, and planting schemes that support both biodiversity and year-round wellbeing. Through mentoring, I can introduce you to the traditional medicinal uses of common plants and herbs, including establishing medicinal herb gardens, sustainable harvesting and seasonal preparation. I also create Wildlife Garden Plans, providing a practical roadmap for improving soil health, increasing biodiversity and creating spaces where wildlife and people can flourish.
