Helen Codd Studio is a planting‑led garden design practice in Sussex, creating wildlife‑friendly, gardens that feel alive, characterful and rooted in place. I help homeowners understand their gardens and make thoughtful changes that increase biodiversity and support the natural rhythms of the space.

I offer Garden Clarity Sessions, planting design, planting plans, seasonal reviews, and planting & maintenance support for people who want their gardens to thrive. My work blends ecological planting, practical guidance and a sensitive, observational approach that works with the garden rather than against it.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design with the British Academy of Garden Design, and I’m a member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers (SGLD). I’ve been designing and building wildlife‑friendly gardens since 2021, developing a practice grounded in ecological planting, habitat creation and long‑term garden care.

My focus is on layered planting, soil health, microclimates, and creating structure, food sources and habitat for birds, pollinators and other wildlife. I design and maintain gardens in a way that encourages natural processes, strengthens resilience and helps wildlife return and flourish.
I work with clients across Sussex who want gardens that are more biodiverse, more nature‑friendly and full of life throughout the year.
