Soil First Gardens

I’m experienced in both ornamental and edible gardening using pesticide free/organic growing practices. I can do general maintenance tasks, planting/develop your planting, pruning, weeding etc and have a particular interest in making gardens more wildlife friendly. I also love colourful flowers if you are wishing to bring more colour to your garden.  I can help you make your garden more wildlife friendly through planting, maintenance, making habitat structures using natural resources (eg, wood/plant material, rocks etc) I have recently completed short courses in gardening for biodiversity at Great Dixter and Hilldrop in Essex which have been incredibly inspiring and given me lots more knowledge of how its possible to create gardens that support more wildlife. I also have an interest in meadow management and am learning to scythe.
I have an RHS Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture and also a Permaculture Design Certificate.
I spent 10 years working on a community food growing project in London and also did maintenance gardening in central London. Since moving to East Sussex I worked at Sarah Raven’s Cutting Garden for 1.5 years.
