Sue Luxton Gardens
About
I’m a qualified and insured garden designer and gardener and have been working in and around Lewisham, south-east London since 2012. I have a particular interest in wildlife-friendly gardening, whether it’s creating a meadow area in a garden, adding a pond or planting a hedge. Even in tiny London gardens, there is always something you can do to increase biodiversity. I only really do maintenance work in and around SE4, but will travel further for design or planting work.
I run a gardening club at my local primary school and I’m also involved in several community projects, including working with volunteers at St Mary’s Therapeutic Garden in Ladywell to improve the churchyard. Among other things we’ve added a wildlife pond, a meadow area, a mixed native species hedge and planted thousands of snowdrops, bluebells and other Spring bulbs.
I gained my Diploma in Garden Design from Capel Manor College, Regents Park, in December 2014. Prior to this I completed the RHS Diploma in Horticulture (Level 2) at Hadlow College in Mottingham.

You can book an in-person 90-minute consultation with me at your home to discuss your garden.
We will consider how you would like to use your garden, any current shortcomings and look at possible wildlife-friendly design solutions. These could just be tweaks or a more extensive overhaul and can include rough sketches for layout options and planting suggestions. I follow up the session with notes and a sketch design for your garden. Cost: £300.
